For the month of April, Twain will have a week-to-week attendance challenge along with a monthly challenge.
Monthly Challenge: Free recess for one class per grade awarded at the end of the month to the homeroom with the highest attendance percentage for the month of April.
Weekly Challenge: Classes will compete in head-to-head competition with one other class in their grade level for a weekly prize to be awarded every Friday in the month of April (prizes for Friday, April 13th, will be awarded the following Monday, April 16th).
No School Friday April 13. –School Improvement Day. Classes resume Monday, April 16th.
3rd Quarter Parent/Teacher Conferences (Report Card Pick-Up Day) will be take place Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 11:20-6:00 pm. Staff will be on lunch break from 3:15-4:00. Please come at your scheduled appointment time.
Sport Shirt Day-Support your favorite team. Friday, April 20th.
The Book IT Reading Program incentive has ended but students must continue to read at least 20 minutes daily and record their reading on a log provided by the teacher. Student must turn it in completed and signed by an adult at the end of each month. The more you read the more you will improve.
Students must continue learning the addition and subtraction facts. They must be able to answer 23 facts in 1 minute. Students are currently being tested on the facts.
Reading tests and Spelling Tests are given every Friday please make sure your child reads the story of the week at home (located inside their Wonders reading books), reviews their vocabulary words (words are found in their Wonders reading book) & studies their weekly spelling words in preparation for the exams. Friday’s are not a good day to be absent.
Please continue to review, sign and return red folders on Monday with your child.
Homework and important school events/reminders are recorded by students in their Twain assignment books please make sure to read and sign it daily.
Please make sure your child is getting a good night’s rest and practicing healthy habits to help prevent any sickness and spreading of germs in the classroom.
Please try to schedule doctor and dental appointments as best as you can after school or on days of non-instruction to prevent your child from losing precious instructional minutes.
